Why I started Catstrate Me

Every day, we see the same stories: injured animals, abandoned cats, unwanted litters, and people desperately looking for help in Facebook groups. We help with one case, and another follows. Then another.

We cannot prevent every act of abandonment or cruelty, and we cannot take every animal off the street. But we can reduce the number of animals being born into a life without a home.

That is why I started Catstrate Me.

Systematic sterilisation allows us to address the problem before it becomes yet another emergency. If we can gradually bring the stray cat population under control, more attention and resources can go towards the animals already in need: those who are sick, injured, abandoned or victims of cruelty, as well as towards holding the people responsible for that cruelty accountable.

Catstrate Me begins with its first goal: 5,000 sterilised street cats. It is the first measurable step towards lasting change, where fewer and fewer animals are born into life on the street.

Because the fewer animals born without a home, the more we can do for those already here.
